How to Qualify

Our Nordstrom for Good program (previously Sustainable Style) now requires verification of claims through BV’s OneSource platform.

Notifying of BV approval for new items

If you have received BV approval, you can share that status information with us on our Product Attribute (PA) forms that are conveniently linked in our assets request email. 

With the Assets Request email open, navigate to and click the “Product Attribute” Excel File link to open the Product Attribute document in your web browser.

Under the Key Selling benefits column, you can add a note for "BV Verified".

Utilize the “Key Selling Benefits” field to note "BV Verified"


Please note the Product Attribute document is directly editable in Excel online, with no download or re-uploads needed. Changes made will be automatically saved and visible on Vendor Assets end in real-time.


Notifying of BV approval for existing Items

If you receive BV approval for any existing or published items, no additional action is needed on your end. Nordstrom teams receive direct updates from BV for items that have been verified, and we will update the product details on our end.

FAQs

  1. Can the NFG attribute be applied even if items have not been verified yet in the BV portal?

No, NFG attributes are only attainable upon successful completion of the BV verification process.


  1. I have received a request from BV to upload claims in their portal, but I am unfamiliar with the reason why.

Nordstrom has recently refreshed their previously named Sustainable Style product attribute program now called ‘Nordstrom for Good’. Part of that process update now requires brands to have their sustainability claims verified by a third party, BV.  

If you are receiving an email from BV it means we have identified that your brand may have product that qualifies. Please review the updated criteria and begin the verification process with BV.  

Note: This is not a mandatory process, however, claims not qualified through BV will not be able to receive the NFG .com attribute. For any questions about the new criteria please reach out to our CSR team at csr@nordstrom.com.


  1. How will I know if claim verification is complete?

You will receive notification upon completion of the verification process and along the way should you need to provide additional information. If you are having trouble reaching BV, please reach out to our CSR Team at csr@nordstrom.com for support on claims verification timing.
